PASSENGER FLIGHTS

The experience of flying in a hot-air balloon is truly amazing and fortunately, today it is also within everyone's reach. In 1996, balloon clubs in Germany alone flew more than 90.000 passengers! It has become increasingly easier and quite safe to fly over the castles of the Loire Valley, the Burgundy vineyards and the Kenyan savanna, to cross the Alps via Austria or Switzerland into Italy, to approach the Egyptian pyramids from above and take extraordinary aerial photographs of historical monuments or nature’s formations!

A balloon flight is a remarkable experience. The flight itself lasts up to about an hour but the memories stay for a lifetime. We usually take off from Barolo (Cn), which can be easily reached by car from Turin, Milan or Genoa. Ancient in history and remarkable for its rustic charm, the little town of Barolo is located in an area called the Langhe. The landscape is characterized by wooded hills, scenographically encircled by vineyards and presenting breath-taking panoramas from nearly every point of view.

We recommend that our passengers overnight locally. We can arrange accommodations in either a bed & breakfast or a charming hotel. The region is famous for its warm hospitality, delicious local food specialties and outstanding wines. Barolo is located only about 6 km south-west of Alba, the capital of the wine region in the Piedmont.

We can organize a complete holiday trip in the area for you and your family or guests. Or, if you wish to spend your holidays somewhere else in Piedmont or in a different part of Italy altogether and wish to have the balloon flight included in the package, just send us a request accompanied by an overview of your plans and we will arrange all the details.

In order to be allowed to fly in our balloons, you must be a member of the “I Più Leggeri Dell’Aria (lighter than air)” association, created to make flying possible, on this unique experience, with both safety and style. The association membership fee is 210,00 euro (VAT excluded) per passenger and with it the first flight is granted free of charge.

There is another fantastic experience that you can choose: flying over the Langhe on our 4-seater airship! This option is ideal for groups of people since the airship, unlike the balloon, could go back and forth between the points of departure and landing, making possible for a quick and easy transportation of the entire group. For technical reasons this kind of flight can be conducted only during the fall and winter months.

HOT-AIR BALLOONS HELP TO IMPROVE TOURISM.

We encourage tour operators, hotels, tourist villages, and agri-tourism centers located in areas suitable for flying to contact us with regards to the possibility of renting or purchasing a balloon for their guests. In addition, we can provide pilot instruction, so you can learn how to operate the balloon independently.
